I read the latest and greatest Love & Hoots newsletter and there was a request for the love song lyrics. Since I was "Pledge of the Year" in spring of 1973, I thought it only fitting that I should send them along and also the pep song that always followed as we ended our weekly meetings. So in case you haven't gotten it yet, here you go!
There's a name far more dear to my heart
So sacred from others apart
It's sweet music I love to recall
Bringing treasures each time to enthrall
Praise to thee, Sigma Alpha Tau
For thy honor and for thy law
May thy friendships and cherished memories
Ever bind our hearts to thee
Pep song
Let's give a hoot
For green and gold
And shout her praises high
Lasting friendships she does mold
And never will they die
Hoot, hoot, hoot I'm a hooting owl
And this I'm proud to be
I like to sing and I like to howl
With lots of pep you see
To be an owl
Is lots of fun
The boys agree their best of all
And when my Otterbein days are done
I'll be proud of Sigma Alpha Tau
HOOT!
I didn't know who to send this to and this seemed to be the only information I had in the way of sending this on...hope it falls into the hands of the person looking for it and I hope I get to meet her when we celebrate 100 years!!!....after all, we have to make Ethel Kepphart Kurtz and Bonita Jamison, to name just a couple of our founders, proud of starting this organization 100 years ago!!!
